2021-2022 season review

The 2021-2022 season "Cargo Connect" was our Expert year. Here is all that we accomplished in that year:

we went to an invitational!

An invitational is an invite to compete with really amazing people. The invitational was great! We just got back from Arkansas! We all live in Texas, so it was a very long drive. We all agree though, it was worth it. We won the finalist award for our alliance pit decorations and Core Values! Hooray! We also had fun. A team called the Blue Bananas decided to create the BEST GAME EVER!! The Blue Bananas painted a ton (or more) clothespins blue and wrote "Blue Banana. Pass it on!" on each one. They passed out notes saying that the goal is to pin as many clothespins on someone without them noticing. It went really crazy, and awesome!

we were on sa live! (the san antonio news)

Yup, we were on TV! It was really awesome. Have you Always wanted to know what happens behind-the-scenes on your television? We can tell you! It was really cool. We had to set up our robot board first, and we talked and waited for out turn to come on. When it was almost time, the two hosts came out, along with a bunch of cameras. The hosts were holding paper that listed how long the show would be, what times films would be at, and what to say/what to ask us. Then we had to scoot around in the perfect order, and we rehearsed what we would say. Want to see our video? Look up "SA Live" On YouTube. We may post the video and some pictures, here, too.

we won REGIONALs!

April 2 was our robot runs for Regionals and the Awards Ceremony. And we won 3rd place for our Robot's points, and 2nd place for the Champions award! We are so happy, and very proud. Are you in FLL and have gone to Regionals? We hope you got very, very high scores and won some cool things.

march 30th was our regoinals presentations!

We were SUPER exited for our presentations! It was the day where we present all our hard work to a group of Judges virtually. We presented our Project Presentation, then our Robot Presentation and finally our Core Values presentation, which we hope also showed throughout our whole skit. And we all thought that everything went really well-no, really amazing! Afterwards, we played the song "Celebrate good times C'mon!" And then we ate some Chick-Fil-A while playing the Telephone game. It was awesome! The results for how our presentations were will be posted very soon. But do you want to know more? But you can also click this link to learn a bit more on what our Project, Robot design and Core values are.

We made Notebooks for the Cargo Connect year!

We call them our Project Notebook and our Engineering Notebook.

The Project Notebook is basically everything you did in robotics combined into one big story. It can have pictures, text, writing and anything else you want to add.

The Engineering Notebook is different. It's everything your robot did in one big story. Make that anything the robot did. Did it knock over your piece of Innovative Architecture? Write it down! Make run plans and put them in, share your robot design and enter pros and cons from your bot. As our super Coach says, "it can even be a little mad scientist if you want!"

Of course, the Wolfbots' wanted these awesome notebooks! So we made them! Do you want to see our notebooks? Are you interested in our bot? How about the awesome events we did? Then check out the E-book version of our books down below!

How to use: Sometimes these E-books take a while to load, but once they are just take note that they are not pictures. move your cursor on the cover and drag it like you are flipping a page. It should flip too, like a real book!!! (But be careful! Sometimes if you scroll on the pages using your device, they will flip a lot and you might lose your place! Don't worry, this confused us for a long time, too. 😁) Enjoy!

(Note: These notebooks were for last year, so everything in them happened last year.)

Want to see more about what we did last year? Great! This is part is our Innovative solution for Cargo Connect that we came up with.

We learned that The supply chain can be disrupted by many things.

Last year's challenge is to improve the transportation of foods, goods, and people.

What you needed to do for Cargo Connect was to research different cargo, and what can affect it. Then, you needed to come up with a solution on how to stop or prevent what affects your cargo. So what did the Wolfbots come up with?

Glad you asked! Last year, we learned that electricity is cargo, because it goes from power line to power line, and then to your house. Maria D. Garcia from CPS proved this to us, and was surprised that just kids figured that out! So what affects electricity? WEATHER! Storms can knock out power lines, which causes power outages. So can freezes, tornados, fires, and so much more. We've all been in a power outage, and you probably have too. It's not fun, and it caused hardship for many families. So the Wolfbots came up with a solution to help people stay safe in these emergencies. We made an app! We used a program called AppHive, where you can make apps easily by dragging text, buttons, or switches into your creation. We call our app the P.A.W.S. App, and it helps people know what to do in emergencies by the click of a button. It has multiple guides, checklists telling you what you need, and it also teaches you about bad weather. Right now, the Google Play store is approving our app and it will soon be released to the WORLD!

We also had a discussion with a Door Company known as Montealban Doors and their cargo process, plus issues they encounterd. We also got to learn about planes from a professinal flyer. It was a great year.

And now, our previous Robot!

Ahh...the robot. Part of what makes FLL what it is.

The Wolfbots love the robot! It's all about using teamwork to communicate the game plan. It's all about using impact to complete missions and then sharing our research. It's a combination of all the things we love, and everyone gets a part to shine. There's Builders, Programmers and Designers. But with this team, you can be all of them, whichever you want at the moment.

So, what was the design of our robot? The robot was a box design. It had easy attachability, and it also made it easy to line against walls. It's a very sturdy design, as well as having lots of sensors. So we don't need to worry about attaching in certain places. And guess what? We won first place with our robot design in Qualifiers!!

And pretty much what we did for Cargo Connect! Wait---we did do one more thing...Have fun.
